An approximation of Meta’s layouts, which change from time to time. Check the preview in Ads Manager before you publish.
This free ad mockup shows an image the way Facebook and Instagram display it: cropped for the feed, full screen in Stories and Reels, with the safe zones where the app draws its own buttons and captions. It runs in your browser, so your image never leaves your device.
Which sizes should I upload?
| Placement | Size | Ratio |
|---|---|---|
| Facebook and Instagram feed | 1080 × 1350, or 1080 × 1080 | 4:5 or 1:1 |
| Stories and Reels | 1080 × 1920 | 9:16 |
Two files cover nearly everything: a 4:5 for feeds and a 9:16 for Stories and Reels. Sizes and safe zones in full.
What are the safe zones?
On Stories and Reels the app puts the account name at the top and the button, caption and icons at the bottom. Meta’s guidance is to keep text and logos out of roughly the top 14% of the frame, and out of the bottom 20% on Stories or the bottom 35% on Reels. The red bands in the preview mark those areas.
Why does my image look cropped?
Feeds show images from wide (1.91:1) up to 4:5 tall. Anything taller, such as a 9:16 Story image, is cropped to 4:5 in the feed, so the top and bottom are lost. In Stories and Reels, an image that is not 9:16 is shown with the space around it filled in, which looks like an afterthought. Make one file per shape.
